Like all of you, I have been intently following reports of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19) and have carefully contemplated the best path forward for Hypnobabies Boston classes during these uncertain times.
After much consideration, I have decided to transition to virtual instruction for my upcoming spring class series beginning Friday, May 1. Classes will meet via Google Hangouts on the same schedule previously agreed upon (unless our group discovers compelling reasons to change the dates or times). Students will receive hard-copy materials ahead of time for use during and between classes, just as they do for an in-person series. The format of my summer class series will be determined closer to the start date.
The decision to move to virtual instruction was not made lightly. The advantages of in-person childbirth classes include hands-on instruction, personal face-to-face attention, and bonding among the instructor and students. However, I want to act in accordance with the recommendations of leading health officials on how to limit the spread of COVID-19 and to protect the health of the Boston-area community—particularly that of our pregnant moms. My hope is that collectively, we will find creative ways to learn, bond, and connect with one another throughout this virtual series to generate the same kind of camaraderie and peace students find during an in-person series.
Thank you for your patience and your flexibility, and take good care of yourselves and each other.
With appreciation,
Kelley
