Hypno-what? Sounds weird.
Yeah, it does. But it’s actually something that each of us experiences daily. When you miss a turn while driving, when you get lost in a great book, when you daydream—these are all examples of hypnosis. Hypnobabies teaches women how to channel this natural ability in order to have more comfortable, shorter, and easier births.

Is a Hypnobabies class worth it? Stats?
Post-birth, here's what Hypnobabies moms say:
People who have life-threatening allergies to anesthetics successfully undergo medical and dental surgery with hypnosis as their only anesthesia. If hypnosis can create effective pain reduction or elimination for surgery, it can work for childbirth—just ask the thousands of moms who swear by it.
- 70-75% report very comfortable unmedicated births, with mostly pressure, tightening or mild cramping sensations.
- 15% report comfortable until transition (typically 8-10 centimeters), with mild to intense degrees of sensation thereafter, but "very manageable.”
- 10% report comfortable until active labor* (typically 4-7 centimeters), with mild to intense degrees of sensation thereafter. (*Many in this group report labor complications, emotional issues, lack of support, and/or not practicing.)

Is this the same as HypnoBirthing?
Other hypnobirthing courses teach excellent hypno-tools that have helped many women have better, more relaxed births. That said, none of them offers anywhere near the amount of in-depth information, training, and resources that Hypnobabies does.

Why do I need an in-person childbirth class? I don't have much free time.
The internet can teach you many things. But it can't give you the benefit of face-time with an experienced instructor and camaraderie with other expectant parents.
If you're really busy, in-person childbirth classes are exactly what you need! Dedicating 2.5-3 hours per week to attending class, when possible, is the best way to stay on track with your Hypnobabies studies and reconnect with your partner.
You know the saying—you get out what you put in. This has special relevance when it comes to preparing for birth with Hypnobabies.

Will this conflict with my religious beliefs?
Hypnobabies is designed for women of every faith and belief system to use. Hypnosis is a normal, everyday state you experience all the time, whether you're driving, reading, or watching videos on your phone. Hypnobabies simply guides that process to create a fear-free, comfortable childbirth experience.
